Immunotherapy

The third project was to dissect the molecular mechanism of immunotherapy treatment of relapsed/refractory Epstein-Barr virus–associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in adults. This study was finished with the support of my mentor Yu Liu, who is focused on the blood disease. In this project, I grasped the basic biology of leukemia and lymphoma, because some lymphoma patients are with HLH happened. Furthermore, I’m also very interested in immunotherapy treatment, because of its powerful and general therapeutic effect no matter in HLH, but also in more caner. In HLH’s study, I identify immunotherapy treatment can recover the T cells function with highly expression co-stimulatory factors and degranulation related genes, causing abnormal macrophage and lymphocytes are eliminated in HLH patients. However, the more molecular mechanisms of immunotherapy treatment in caner were still unknowns. And the resistance of immunotherapy treatment, especially acquired resistance, also stimulate my curiosity. In my view, I thought the epigenetics regulators genes are playing essential roles in resistance process.
